Sunny Day w/ Kodak Portra 400 Sony Film Simulation
Spring is finally here
So I am back out with these Sony Film Simulations, taking advantage of the colors, the light and the life surrounding me each day.
It's time to get out and enjoy the weather.
The Kodak Portra 400 is a Film recipe that will give you soft tones, toned down saturation, and balanced colors, offering pleasing skin tones, high dynamic range and an overall characteristic of Beauty Picture Profile.
Warmer Temperature Settings
Colder Temperature Settings
It's great for a wide variety of usages, but I believe most people will use it for Portraits, Beauty & Fashion Commercials, Music Videos, anything that has to be Pretty & Neat, looks great out of camera and requires no grading.
This film simulation will render very natural colors and pretty much good to go straight out of camera. Any further editing is your choice.
Exposing this film simulations is very easy, slightly underexposed or overexposed, it works both ways, just don't underexpose too much because it will lose contrast and start looking muddy.
Being versatile and forgiving, it's pretty hard to mess it up with this film recipe.
For bright pleasing images I would overexpose by +0.5 or +1 stops, but you can go anywhere between underexposing -0.7 stop to +2 stops.
Compared with other Film Simulations, this profile is super forgiving with exposure, lighting and the color settings used, making the Kodak Portra 400 Film Simulation one of the best choices for beginners from all custom Sony Picture Profiles.
It has the ability to create buttery smooth images without going over the board, but I'll let you decide for yourself what you think of this Film Simulation.
I decided to skip the long texts for this Blog so we can just enjoy the pictures, and motivate our self to get out!
Let us know what you think of this Sony Film Simulation Recipe
and I wish you a Lovely Day!
All these shots are Straight out of camera and exported for web size in Capture One.
