Hey just wanted to say amazing work with your film simulations this has made things so much easier and more enjoyable as I get used to this camera. I just got the Rx100 VI and saw that you had these simulations. I checked out the color matching articles you have and I’m just a little confused on how to match them to the 6700 that you used as the base. Is there a standard change I can apply to all of the simulations to replicate the 6700 version or do I need to mane different tweaks for each. Honestly I’m a college student doing internships and classes and I’ve just gotten into photography so I don’t have the knowledge or time to tweak every single one. I’m starting on the 8 free ones but I’m definitely interested in buying the 72 but I want to same sure I have to ability to actually put them to use properly.
TLDR: Is there a standard change I can put on my Rx100 VI simulations to match the 6700 ones?
Hey there — and welcome to the community!
When I was choosing an RX100, I considered both the RX100 IV and the VI. Based on what I found online, the RX100 IV tends to have color characteristics very similar to the Sony A7III — specifically, a noticeable magenta cast in the image.
Thankfully, this is easy to fix with a few simple adjustments that work across all film simulations:
Increase white balance by ~+200 Kelvin
Shift the color filter slightly towards green (+0.5)
Raise the color phase by +1 or +2, depending on the recipe (where possible)
The logic behind these tweaks is to counterbalance the magenta tint by introducing a yellow-green tone, and using the color phase adjustment to rotate hues clockwise, effectively neutralizing the cast.
Hope this explanation makes the technique clearer! You can apply these settings to any simulation to correct the color bias consistently.
