Updated: May 22

Zetra 100 is an original film simulation created specifically for Sony cameras, crafted from personal preferences rather than based on any existing film stock.

What Makes Zetra 100 Special

Zetra 100 has a super versatile look. It's one of those recipes that just works in any setting.

This film simulation stands out for its rich Amber Blue color harmony and buttery soft contrast, giving you natural tones that work well in all kinds of lighting. It adds depth without taking over, and it doesn't push colors too far  — it just brings out the best in a scene. That’s why it works so well for portraits, landscapes, and street shots. You still get the true feel of the moment, just with a bit more character.

One of the main goals behind it was to get soft, slightly amber skin tones — a touch of nostalgia, but still clean. It’s great if you want flattering skin tones without spending hours editing.

When you're shooting landscapes or anything outdoors, Zetra 100 makes blue skies pop without throwing the whole image off balance. The bright skies add depth and interest, but they don’t steal the show, giving an unique look to your images, without going over the top.

A New Take on Film Simulations

Zetra 100 isn’t based on any well-known film stock. It’s something fresh. And I've noticed it doesn't get the spotlight it deserves —so it felt like a good time to give it some love.

What I like most about it is how flexible it is. It works just as well for street shots as it does for landscapes or portraits. The colors get a nice boost, but never feel over the top. You still get that true-to-life look—just with a bit more depth and mood.

Color Variance Across Cameras

The reds on the Sony RX100 VI are shifted towards pink, but on newer cameras, the reds will be rather orange. All cameras have their own unique way of mapping colors, so when using the same film simulations on different cameras, we'll get different results — and that's only normal.
