Asteroid City LUT – Kodak Vision 200T
A Sony S-Log3 to Rec.709 LUT inspired by Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City, built to emulate Kodak Vision 200T's emblematic aesthetic. This Asteroid City LUT embraces Wes Anderson’s iconic teal and orange palette, low contrast, high saturation aesthetic, while also converting your footage to a Rec709 space.
Tested extensively on Sony cameras recording in S-Log3 / S-Gamut3.Cine and stress-tested to ensure smooth highlight roll-off, clean gradients, and stable colors without breaking apart.
What It Includes
- Natural - an accurate, true-to-film movie look with balanced tones.
- Vibrant Teal & Orange - a warmer, more vibrant teal-orange look, closer to the style of the movie cover.
Step 1. Shoot in Log - Record in S-Log3 / S-Gamut3.Cine using a Picture Profile that supports it.
Step 2. Expose correctly - Overexpose your footage by 1.5 +2 stops. This LUT is calibrated specifically for overexposed Log footage. Not exposing correctly will produce muddy and darker results.
Step 3. Apply the LUT - Apply the Asteroid City LUT in your editing software.
Step 4. Fine-tune - Adjust contrast, saturation, or exposure slightly if needed. Small curve or wheel tweaks go a long way.
Note: Set design, composition, and lighting make up the whimsical look that defines Wes Anderson as well. Use the LUT when shooting in brighter environments, and use set design, clothing, and composition that build on that aesthetic.
