Modern Sony Cameras: The latest version is calibrated to the a6700 color science. It works flawlessly with newer mirrorless models (a7 IV, a7C II, a7CR, a7R V, a9 III, a1, ZV-E1, ZV-E10, etc.), the Cinema Line (FX2, FX3, FX30), and premium compacts (RX100 VII, RX1 RIII).
-
Older Models (a7S I, a7II, a6300, etc.): Colors might shift slightly due to the older sensor technology. But they can be closely color-matched to the newer sensors with a few simple tweaks (I show you exactly how to do this on the blog).
-
The Exceptions - Starting with the a7V, Sony has completely removed the "Color Depth" option from the Picture Profile menu, a change we can expect for all newer camera models. Unfortunately, there is no alternative setting that replicates this function. You can still use the film simulations, but they won't be the same as on different models because of this. Alternatively, you can try out creative looks for recipes.

High-end Cinema cameras like the FX6, FX9, & Venice are not compatible as they use a completely different menu structure.
- Some Sony Camcorders are compatible with Sony Film Simulation Picture Profiles.
- At the moment, the RX1 RII Full frame camera does not have the picture profile menu, so it's not compatible.

It took a lot of research and work creating these, and I'm trying to keep the price as affordable as possible for everybody, so I hope you can understand why it's important to keep them for yourself. If anyone wants these presets, please redirect them to my website. Thank you!
