Fujifilm Classic Negative LUT

To get the best results from this LUT, follow these tips:

Set your Exposure Correctly:

When shooting in Log format (S-Log, C-Log, Log C), overexpose your footage by +1.5 - +2 stops. This prevents shadows from becoming too dark, which would compromise the LUT's translation and you’ll have to adjust exposure in post.

White Balance 

Ensure your source Log footage is white-balanced to a neutral baseline before applying the LUT to get those highlights and shadow shifts that define the Classic Negative Look.

Choose the LUT that matches your camera brand. 

After applying the LUT

Adjust contrast, saturation, and exposure to your taste. Use the curves or wheels for a more refined control. As a base look, Classic Neg has high contrast, faded shadows, and highly desaturated controls.

• Shoot in Log format. 
• For best results, shoot in daytime at around 5500K light source. For night-time or any other light source you have to correct the white balance.

Nope. This is just for videos, since I designed it with a log footage starting point in mind. 
 

This set of Classic Negative Lightroom & Capture One presets are included in a pack of 80+ presets for Sony users who use the in-camera recipes, but want to take advantage of RAW files & a more accurate emulation of film stocks. 

Any video editing tool that is compatible with .cube files, software like DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro X. 
 

This Classic Neg LUT was tested on Canon R5C, Sony a7S III, Red KOMODO, and ARRI Alexa S35 cameras. If your camera records in one of the supported Log profiles, it will work as intended.

Sony
 Compatible with Sony Alpha and Cinema Line cameras using S-Log3 / S-Gamut3.cine, including models like the a7 IV, a7S III, a6700, FX3, FX6, FX30, and FX9.

 These cameras share the same Log gamma and color science, which ensures a consistent translation to Rec.709.

Canon
 Works with Canon EOS R and Cinema Line cameras shooting C-Log 3 (and in most cases C-Log 2), such as the R5, R5C, R3, R6 Mark II, C70, and C300 series.

 Canon’s standardized Log curves allow the LUT to convert and grade reliably.

ARRI
 Compatible with all ARRI Alexa models using Log C or Log C4, including Alexa Mini, LF, and AMIRA.

 ARRI Log C is highly standardized, making compatibility effectively universal across the Alexa lineup.

RED
 Supports RED cameras using Log3G10 within the IPP2 workflow, including KOMODO, DSMC2, and V-Raptor models.

 For best results, apply the LUT after setting the project to RedWideGamutRGB.
